01/6/06 - Gertrude's Son is back!

This poignant and funny new play will premiere at the Lemon Tree on 29th and 30th June.

The story of the prodigal brother who chooses the wrong moment to return, where a disturbing past collides with an uncertain future. After November's postponement we are proud to bring Gertrude's Son to the stage. It's been a long process, with the initial inception of it in our previous production 'Ouch'. Since then, it has been work-shopped with the Mitchell School of Drama's Adult Group, as well as the performers themselves to create this high-octane new theatre piece.

Come along to see Aberdeen's only professional theatre company's latest production!

01/3/06 - HOME: Aberdeen [National Theatre of Scotland], directed by Alison Peebles.

Abderite was proud to be associated with the very first production by the new National Theatre of Scotland. Abderite was commissioned to create and deliver and interactive performance of 2 'homeless' people for the HOME: Aberdeen project. This particular interactive performance led Mark Brown to comment in the Daily Telegraph that this 'moment of seeming street hassle... turns out to be a startling challenge to social prejudices' The Daily Telegraph 27th Feb 2006.
